Visit September 19MBC will launch its new Friday-Saturday drama, To the Moon (달까지 가자), and one of its major assets will undoubtedly be the performance of Kim Young-dae, who plays a character as singular as he is endearing.

From stage dream to office legend
In the series, Kim Young-dae plays the role of Ham Ji-wooDirector of the Big Data TF Team at Maron Confectionery. Brilliant, charismatic and with an impeccable CV, he distinguishes himself from his colleagues by a very different quest: where everyone else seems to be chasing money, he is still chasing his own. a real dream, that of music.
New images of the character have revealed that Ham Ji-woo is actually a former independent singer who had to give up his artistic ambitions. Now, he's earned a reputation as a "legend of the office", leading each project to success, but with a passion in his heart that he's never totally extinguished.
A role that seduced Kim Young-dae
When asked about the reasons for his choice, the actor confides that he was immediately seduced by this complex character: "The idea of a failed former independent musician really appealed to me. He seems free and carefree, but in reality he's trapped in an invisible straitjacket. I found it fascinating to watch him try to free himself.

To better inhabit the role, Kim Young-dae returned to his own musical experiences: "I took up singing, went into the recording studio, and even played the drums again after a long time. I wanted her musical background to shine through in every gesture, every reaction."
Ham Ji-woo is described as a creative man with a rich inner world, but forced to deal with the harshness of reality. "He's a character who lives the gap between his imagination and reality, sometimes to the point of appearing eccentric. I recognized myself in him, even if, unlike him, I tend to make pragmatic choices more quickly," confides the actor.

A promise of warmth and emotion
Beyond the role, Kim Young-dae hopes the drama will bring comfort: " I'd like To the Moon to be a work that makes you smile after a hard day, a story that warms your heart. If my game can offer someone a little break, a breath of fresh air, that will be my greatest achievement."
With her passion, sincerity and commitment, Kim Young-dae promises to deliver a memorable performance in this drama that promises to be funny, touching and inspiring. Watch for it on September 19 on MBC (and hopefully an international broadcaster)!
