Kim Yoo-jung returns in a dark and fascinating role : Dear X to air in November

It's now official: the long-awaited Dear Xstarring Kim Yoo-jung, will start airing on November 6 next on TVING. The platform unveiled the teaser poster of the drama, confirming the launch date and offering a first glimpse of the intense atmosphere of this new series blending thriller and romance.

An actress with an angel's face... and a merciless heart

At the heart of Dear X are Baek Ah-jina beloved TV star who hides behind her smile a much darker nature. To survive a childhood marked by domestic violence, she has learned to manipulate those around her and use others as pawns in her quest for fame. She may be sweet and caring on the outside, but when someone stands in her way, her true face emerges: cold, cruel and determined. This complex and captivating character will be played by Kim Yoo-jungwho steps away from her usual roles to explore a multi-faceted character.

A solid cast for an intense drama

Alongside Kim Yoo-jung, the cast includes Kim Young-daein the role of Yun Jun-seothe man who has always been there for her. A true pillar in Baek Ah Jin's life, he has supported her from behind the scenes, accepting everything out of love. But today, this unshakeable support is beginning to falter. Ready to question everything, Yun Jun-seo seems on the verge of freeing himself from his blind devotion.

Another key presence: Kim Do-hoon in the role of Kim Jae Oa man just as broken by his past. Like Baek Ah-jin, he grew up in pain. He follows her, worships her, lives in her shadow, ready to do anything for her, even erase himself completely.

Finally, Lee Yeol-eum will play Im Re-naa former idol turned actress, famous for her beauty. Her peaceful life is turned upside down when she crosses paths with Baek Ah-jin and Yun Jun-seo. She falls in love with the latter, but her love is not reciprocated.

A webtoon adaptation by a master of the genre

Dear X is an adaptation of the eponymous webtoon by Ban Ji-un. But what makes it even more intriguing is the presence of director Lee Eung-bok behind the camera. Known for such masterpieces as Goblin, Descendants of the Sun, Mr. Sunshine and, more recently, Sweet Home, Lee Eung-bok is now tackling a darker universe, where masks come off and love rhymes with manipulation and betrayal.

A series not to be missed this fall

Composed of 12 episodes, Dear X promises a gripping plot, powerfully written characters and constant psychological tension. With such a solid cast, and direction in expert hands, this K-drama promises to be one of the year-end events. It remains to be seen how far Baek Ah Jin will go to protect his glory... and who will dare stand in his way.
