It's one of this fall's most intriguing dramas: Netflix continues to unveil the first images of Genie, Make a Wish, a fantasy romance where magic, darkness and humor collide with intensity. Starring 2 essential stars: Kim Woo-bin, in the role of a demonic genius, and Suzy, as a chillingly cold young woman.

A genius... diabolical

Forget the kindly lamp spirit of classic tales. In Genie, Make a Wish, Kim Woo-bin embodies Geniea supernatural spirit awakened after a thousand years' sleep. Seductive, manipulative and sarcastic, he promises to grant 3 wishes to the woman who freed him, but not without a dark ulterior motive. For him, "all humans end up corrupt". Described as the "Satan of the lamp", he appears haloed by a golden light, with a smile as charming as it is disquieting, and an hour of sand hovering over his hand like a countdown...

But he's up against a woman he wasn't expecting: Ka Youngplayed by Suzy.

Suzy in an unexpected role: the elegant psychopath

Far from the usual romantic heroines, Ka Young is a mysterious woman, almost devoid of emotion, with visible as well as psychological scars. Dressed in a glittering gown, armed... with a drill, she coldly declares: "I am the only evil in this world". A warning? A promise? In any case, a declaration of war against a genius who thought he dominated the game.

The videos of the characters shed even more light on their spicy, ironic exchanges. Presented as SatanGenie, the leader of the lamp spirits, emerges from the Dubai desert with a mission: to prove just how corrupt humans can be. When he threatens Ka Young with "I'll never bow down to you, earth being. I'll corrupt you, then kill you", she puts him in his place with a simple "Shut up, get a haircut".

In her own video, Ka Young takes the game even further with a chilling line: "You want me to kill you as my first wish?" leaving Genie completely unnerved.

Between psychological challenge and unexpected romance

The drama plays with contrasts: fantastic, romance, psychology, black comedy. The recently unveiled visuals set the scene: we move from the Dubai desert to a Korean cabbage patch, where Genie, all smiles, tries to adapt to a world he doesn't understand. Ka Young, on the other hand, strolls the streets of Dubai, unwavering, dressed in flamboyant floral patterns, indifferent to the gaze.

Through this clash of worlds, Genie, Make a Wish asks: who, the evil spirit or the broken human, will end up changing the other? Will their confrontation lead to mutual destruction... or to unexpected love?
