A new project is beginning to attract attention on the tvN. Actors Kim Woo-bin and Seo Eun-soo are in talks to play the lead roles in the drama « Gifted »(working title), an adaptation of a successful webtoon.
On January 30, Seo Eun-soo's agency, HighZium Studio, confirmed the information, saying, «Seo Eun-soo is currently in discussions to appear in “Gifted”, and prospects are favorable.» For its part, Kim Woo-bin had already been announced as being considered for the male lead role.
A baseball coach with extraordinary abilities
“Gifted” tells the story of a baseball coach whose life is turned upside down after an unexpected accident. Following this event, he develops extraordinary abilities that lead him to move from a professional team to a bottom-ranked high school, paving the way for a new, more human and formative mission.
Kim Woo-bin is set to play the role of Jung Min-yong, a caring coach deeply committed to the development of his players. Always ready to spend entire nights analyzing matches and writing reports, he makes a point of encouraging progress and effort rather than immediate results. Attentive, he also never hesitates to invite the younger players to lunch when he has the chance, embodying a sincere and dedicated mentor figure.
A potential duo at the heart of the field
Seo Eun-soo is being considered for the role of Yoon Seo-jin, physical education teacher and coach of the high school's women's baseball team. A character who would evolve alongside Jung Min-yong, in a school setting where sport becomes a vehicle for personal growth, solidarity and surpassing oneself.
Based on an already popular webtoon, “Gifted” promises to combine sport, emotion and human development, while exploring the notion of talent from an unexpected angle.
No release date has yet been announced, but the project is already being closely watched, not least because of the potential partnership between Kim Woo-bin and Seo Eun-soo.
