After releasing more than 150 letters and diary entries by Kim Soo-hyun last week to set the record straight, the actor's lawyer, Maître Go Sang-rok, continues his offensive. Very active on social networks, he is multiplying his publications to provide concrete evidence and demonstrate, once again, his client's innocence. This weekend, he delivered a new summary of the essential points of the case.

The key facts of Kim Soo-hyun's case, according to his legal representative
Every day, Master Go Sang-rok posts messages on Threads detailing and refuting the accusations. As a reminder, since March 2025, the family of the late Kim Sae-ron, supported by the YouTube channel Garosero, has been claiming that the actor had a 6-year relationship with her when she was still a minor. These revelations initially triggered a wave of hate-filled comments in Korea and abroad. But as the weeks went by, faced with inconsistencies and disputed documents, public opinion largely swung in Kim Soo-hyun's favor, convinced that many of the "proofs" put forward were grossly manipulated.
The key points listed by his lawyer are as follows:
- The actor Kim Soo-hyun never had a romantic relationship with the deceased when she was a minor.
- All the photos made public were taken after 2019, when the deceased was already a first-year university student, proving that their relationship didn't begin until adulthood. → The claim of a "6-year relationship since college" is impossible, since no photos exist outside the true period of their relationship.
- A card sent by the actor on November 1, 2019 contains phrases typically used at the very beginning of a romantic relationship ("I'll keep taking care of you", "I'll give in even when we fight"), making it clear that these were the first moments of their relationship.
- By contrast, a letter sent on June 9, 2018, while he was doing his military service, was just a sort of daily account of his life and personal resolutions, without any romantic expression. It was more like a friendly message between casual acquaintances.
- The actor wrote over 150 letters to his real girlfriend during this period, filled with declarations of love, gratitude and affection. Conversely, the letter addressed to the deceased contains no tokens of love, no promises, no shared memories or personal questions.
- Despite this, the Garo Sero Institute has knowingly juxtaposed and distorted the military letter and the 2019 card to fabricate a false love narrative. In reality, the letter demonstrates precisely that there was no special relationship between them.
- All verified documents confirm that their relationship only began in the summer of 2019 and ended in the spring of 2020.
- Gaseyeon's assertions therefore constitute a malicious falsification of non-existent facts, amounting to a veritable defamation of an innocent person.

Kim Soo-hyun's alleged messages to Kim Sae-ron called into question
A few months ago, the YouTube channel Garo Sero Research Institute revealed message exchanges purporting to be between actor Kim Soo-hyun and the late actress Kim Sae-ron. These texts, purporting to prove a long-standing relationship between the two, now appear dubious.
Problem: the dates mentioned in these messages don't match up with reality. The alleged conversations indicated that Kim Soo-hyun would have contacted the actress while he was performing his military service, on April 2, 2018, and that he would have arranged to meet her on April 5. However, his personal diary and several press articles confirm that on these precise dates, he was taking part in intensive military exercises within his unit.
Conflicting evidence
In his diary of the time, in which the actor details his days of maneuvering and repeatedly mentions a companion he was seeing at the time. The notes, written between April 2 and 6, 2018, however, contain no mention of Kim Sae-ron. Worse still, on April 6, Kim Soo-hyun confessed to looking forward to his next leave, proof that he had not left his regiment in the preceding days.
For his lawyer, Mr. Go Sang-rok, these inconsistencies leave no room for doubt: the messages made public may have been manipulated, or even mixed up with conversations held by other people. "Even a simple review of the dates of service shows that he couldn't send those text messages," he said, adding that any accusations against his client could be refuted by hard evidence.
News of the actor's health
This weekend, he also sent a message directly to fans to give news of the actor, whose last communication dates back to March 25, during the press conference he had given to defend himself in the face of the situation.
"I sincerely thank you. There's still a long way to go, but little by little, the truth will eventually prevail, and actor Kim Soo-hyun will soon regain his tranquility and honor. To share with international fans, I had a brief telephone conversation with him at the end of the day, and was comforted to hear a more optimistic note in his voice. I told him, although I'm sure he already knows, that many fans around the world are sending him their love and support, which also gives me strength. I wish everyone a warm and peaceful Chuseok. Sincerely, Sang-rock Kho"
Then :
"Let me share one thing: I don't think this goes against his wishes. He certainly knows that many sincere fans are wondering how he manages to find peace at such a difficult time. He finds calm through meditation at a center recently featured by G-Dragon, and sometimes goes hiking alone at dawn, but not as these old photos show. Even in adversity, he remains polite, sincere and quietly focused on his inner peace, which makes me want to support him even more."
This whole affair raises the question of the weight of public opinion in the hasty judgment of Korean celebrities, as well as the functioning of the legal system in South Korea. How is it possible that such allegations can be believed without even taking a step back? What about the role of AI in this type of case (which is certainly a first)? It's time Internet users learned to take responsibility, to know what's true and what's false, and not to believe a piece of information as soon as it's published, because the lives of real people are at stake.
We'll keep you posted on the lawyer's next publications. What do you think of his approach? And this case?
