MBC has revealed the first images of Portraits of Delusion, the new period drama reuniting Suzy and Kim Seon-ho, 5 years after their duo's success in Start-Up. The story, dark and hypnotic, takes place in the Gyeongseong of 1935, between rumors, secrets and a beauty as disturbing as it is dangerous.

Adapted from the webtoon of the same name, the drama revolves around a painter commissioned to paint the portrait of an almost mythical woman: Song Jeong-hwa, invisible for over half a century, but the focus of much speculation.
A fascinating woman with well-kept secrets
The series is directed by Han Jae-rim, known for The King, Emergency Declaration and The 8 Show. Suzy plays Song Jeong-hwa, the owner of the Nammoon Hotel, a place as mysterious as its mistress. For over 50 years, she has not been seen in public. Endowed with "a bewitching beauty and a disquieting charm", she remains a figure that no one can understand.
Her almost unreal appearance only fuels the legends that circulate around her. For many, she's a living enigma.
A painter trapped by obsession
Kim Seon-ho lends his features to Yun Iho, an artist whose career has lost its lustre. When he was commissioned to paint Jeong-hwa's portrait, he saw it as an opportunity to rekindle "his passion for true art".

But when he enters the Nammoon Hotel, he finds himself trapped in a suffocating atmosphere. Fear, confusion, silence... Yet the more he observes Jeong Hwa, the more he falls under her strange spell, unable to move away despite the palpable danger.
Portraits of Delusion is currently in production and scheduled for release in the second half of 2026. A period thriller that promises to be as aesthetic as it is harrowing.
