We spoke about it a few days ago and it's now confirmed: Kim Nam-gil and Lee Yoo-mi will star in the sci-fi drama “Nightmare”. A series that promises to mix thriller, fantasy and reflection on justice.
“Nightmare” plunges viewers into a universe where the line between dream and reality becomes blurred. The story follows a new breed of vigilantes, who punish criminals not in the real world, but by locking them up in their own nightmares.

Justice in dreams
Kim Nam-gil plays Kim Tae-yi, a detective marked by a long undercover mission. When he returns, he's not quite the same: his personality, his way of speaking and even his lifestyle have changed. Yet one thing remains intact: his determination to track down evil.
Gifted with sharp instincts and a darker temperament, he teams up with vigilantes who can intervene directly in dreams to track down criminals.
For her part, Lee Yoo-mi plays Jang Gyu-eun, a discreet and reserved policewoman in everyday life, dedicated to helping victims. But in her dreams, she reveals a completely different side.
She becomes a «creator of nightmares», able to enter the minds of criminals who have escaped justice and inflict extreme suffering on them.
A duo at the heart of an original concept
Together, Kim Tae-yi and Jang Gyu-eun prey on those the law cannot reach. Their method is radical: instead of sending them to prison, they condemn them to a mental hell from which they cannot escape, trapped in dreams until they die.
This dark and original concept promises a different approach to justice, where the line between good and evil could quickly become blurred.
The production team explains: «By punishing criminals in nightmares who are difficult to judge in the real world, we want to offer a sense of catharsis. The partnership between a detective and a nightmare creator will offer a new level of immersion.»
“Nightmare” is scheduled for broadcast in 2027.
