It's a duo that K-drama fans know well. Kim Mi-kyung and Park Min-young will once again reunite on screen in the drama “Nine to Six”They'll be playing... mother and daughter, for the 6th time.
According to information revealed on March 23, Kim Mi-kyung has been confirmed in the cast of the SBS drama, in which she will play the mother of the character played by Park Min-young.
A relationship with a cult following
This is not the first time the two actresses have shared this type of role. On the contrary, their collaboration goes back several years, with already 5 projects in which they have embodied a mother-daughter relationship.
They were seen together in “Sungkyunkwan Scandal” (2010), “Healer” (2014), “Her Private Life” (2019) and “Forecasting Love and Weather” (2022).
With this 6th collaboration, their on-screen complicity has become almost emblematic. Kim Mi-kyung herself spoke of this relationship on a TV show, recounting with humor: «After 5 projects together, Park Min-young sent me a message: “Mom, at this point, it's destiny.” I replied, “Yes, I think you're right.”»
A new drama between love and career
“Nine to Six” will tell the story of a woman who, after prioritizing her career to the detriment of her love life, sees her daily life change when she meets a caring, sincere man.
The drama is an adaptation of the Chinese series “The Rational Life” and will also feature Go Soo, Yook Sung-jae and Joo Hyun-young in the cast.
With a concept combining romance and personal evolution, and a mother-daughter duo already popular with the public, “Nine to Six” could well appeal to many viewers.
