SBS is preparing one of its biggest medical projects for 2026: Doctor X: Age of the White Mafiaan ambitious drama that promises to explore the darker side of the Korean hospital environment. The channel has just announced its official cast, and it's nothing short of impressive: Kim Ji-won, Lee Jung-eun, Son Hyun-joo and Kim Woo-seok will carry this series where surgery, power and corruption intertwine.

A surgical prodigy against the system
Kim Ji-won plays Gye Su-jeong, a genius surgeon sent to reinforce the surgical department of Guseo University Hospital via the temporary doctors' agency run by Jang Hee-suk. In the operating room, Gye Su-jeong is a relentless surgeon who only lets her skills speak for themselves. Her role? To expose the excesses of the medical system, scalpel in hand.
Lee Jung-eun lends his features to Jang Hee-suk, the director of the medical agency that sends these doctors to understaffed hospitals. Obsessed with money, sometimes annoying, often very talkative, she actually hides a formidable intelligence and doesn't hesitate to manipulate her public image to serve her business. A colorful character destined to become one of the show's strategic yet comedic driving forces.
Internal struggles, ambitions and unexpected alliances
Son Hyun-joo plays Bu Seung-gwon, director of a branch of Guseo University Hospital, convinced that he can save a hospital in freefall. His ambition comes up against internal rivalries, political pressure and the tough decisions of a sector in crisis.
Finally, Kim Woo-seok plays Park Tae-kyung, intern and heir to a family that owns a large hospital in the provinces. His life is turned upside down when he meets Gye Su-jeong: an encounter that takes him to the heart of the medical intrigues and power tensions that the series promises to unveil unfiltered.
With its 5-star cast, strong themes and darker take on modern medicine, Doctor X: Age of the White Mafia promises to be one of the most eagerly awaited dramas of the year. 2026.
