An intriguing new duo could soon be on our screens. On September 24th, EDaily reported that Kim Ji-hoon was approached to star in the next original series from Coupang Playtentatively entitled The Affair Is Not the Problem Right Now.
A high-voltage marital thriller
This new production promises to be a breathless thriller centered on a woman who, while investigating her husband's infidelity, witnesses a shocking event that turns everything upside down. Kim Hye-soo is currently in advanced discussions to play the wife at the heart of the plot. Kim Ji-hun has reportedly been offered the role of her husband, a key role that could mark a turning point in the series' dramatic dynamic.
The actor's agency, BIGPICTUREENT, confirmed that it was "in the process of examining the offer", leaving it unclear whether it would participate.
A top-flight creative team
The project is being developed by First Man Studio, founded in 2022 by Hwang Dong-hyuk, the Oscar-winning director behind Squid Game. Directed by Lee Chang-hee, recognized as one of the new masters of the Korean thriller thanks to projects such as Hell Is Other People and A Killer Paradox.
With such a potential cast and an experienced creative team, "The Affair Is Not the Problem Right Now" is already raising expectations.
