A new romantic project could mark the next stage in the career of Kim Jae-won. On December 19, OSEN revealed that the actor had received an offer to play the lead role in the drama « My Relationship That I Also Disapprove Of »(literal title), a project previously associated with Lee Jong-suk. According to the article, Kim Jae-won has decided to accept the offer, although his agency remains more cautious.
For its part, Mystic Story simply stated: «This is one of the projects he is currently reviewing.» A measured response that leaves the door open for confirmation in the near future.
A romance centered on reunion and uncertainty
My Relationship That I Also Disapprove Of is a romantic drama that explores the nature of rekindled relationships: is reconnecting with a former love the continuation of a familiar bond or the beginning of a completely new relationship? This theme, focused on ambiguous emotions, nostalgia, and the redefinition of feelings, places the story in a delicate emotional zone, where past and present intertwine.
The project initially attracted attention by announcing Lee Eung-bok to the production, a filmmaker renowned for major works such as Descendants of the Sun, Guardian: The Lonely and Great God (Goblin), Mr. Sunshine and Dear X. At the time, Lee Jong-suk and Go Min-si were also in talks for the lead roles.
A completely redesigned project
However, Lee Jong-suk ultimately declined the offer due to scheduling conflicts. Shortly thereafter, it was reported that director Lee Eung-bok had also withdrawn from the project. Since then, the production team has reportedly decided to restructure the drama from the beginning, by looking for a new director and a new main cast.
