The star of Lovely Runner, Kim Hye-yooncould play one of the main roles in season 2 of Good Partneralongside Jang Na-ra.
On November 5, the media reported that the actress had received an offer to star in the sequel to the popular legal drama. Her agency, Artist Company, confirmed the information: "Kim Hye-yoon has received a proposal for Good Partner 2 and is currently considering it."
Written by a real-life divorce lawyer, the Good Partner series explores the professional and human conflicts between two very different lawyers: Cha Eun-kyung (Jang Na-ra), a star lawyer with a passion for divorce, and Han Yu-ri (Nam Ji-hyun), a young recruit who is still idealistic. The drama was a great success, reaching 17.7 % average audience and earning Jang Na-ra the Grand Prix at the SBS Drama Awards 2024.
Production of season 2 was made official by SBS last April, but neither the full cast nor the shooting or broadcast schedule has yet been finalized. Nam Ji-hyun, initially approached to reprise her role, is said to have declined due to a scheduling conflict.
According to reports, lead actress Jang Na-ra will naturally be returning to the series. Nam Ji-hyun and Kim Jun-han, who showed great chemistry in season 1, will not be returning. P.O (Pyo Ji-hoon) will remain in the cast, while Kim Hye-yoon will take Nam Ji-hyun's place. Casting for a new male lead is currently underway.
The series will be co-produced by Artist Company and Studio&NEWwhich promise a "broader and deeper narrative" sequel, scheduled for release on the second half of 2026.
In parallel, Kim Hye-yoon has just finished shooting the drama Human from Today, scheduled for early 2026, as well as the horror film Salmokji. She is currently shooting the feature film Land alongside Yum Jung-ah and Cha Joo-young.
