The world of K-drama is in turmoil: Kim Go-eun and Kang Dong-won could soon be sharing the bill for a new historical-romantic drama entitled Soul. It's news that's already causing a stir, as much for the prestige of its headliners as for the exceptional creative team behind it.
A summit meeting between a beloved actress and a returning actor
According to the Korean media, Kim Go-eun has reportedly been offered the female lead in Soul and is currently in the planning stage. If confirmed, this will be her 4th current project, after The Price of Confession, You and Everything Else, and the eagerly awaited season 3 of Yumi's Cells.
On his side, Kang Dong-won has yet to make his participation official, but there's every reason to believe that he could be making a comeback on the small screen. If he accepts, it would be his 2nd K-drama since over 20 yearsafter Tempestexpected on Disney+ in 2025. An eventful comeback for fans of the actor, more accustomed to the big screen.
Behind the camera, the project brings together Park Ji-eunsuccessful screenwriter of Queen of Tears, Crash Landing on You and My Love from the Starand Kim Won-suka reference director known for Signal, My Mister, Misaeng or recently When Life Gives You Tangerines. Suffice it to say that expectations are high.
