Scheduled for September 13 on JTBC, the kdrama A Hundred Memories promises to take us on a journey to 1980s Seoul through the touching story of 2 young women with very different backgrounds, but united by a deep friendship... and the same first love.

A nostalgic retro drama
In A Hundred Memories, Kim Da-mi and Shin Ye-eun play Go Young-rye and Seo Jong-hee respectively, 2 bus drivers (known as "bus attendants") on line 100. Back in the day, these young women in their uniforms and red berets were responsible for collecting tickets, welcoming passengers and ensuring safety on board. A bygone era that returns to the screen with retro charm and energy.
The drama follows the daily lives of Young Rye and Jong Hee2 young women from modest backgrounds who board the bus at dawn to work and survive, while dreaming of a better future. Despite the difficulties, their youth shines through, with laughter, ambition and sincere emotion.
Two heroines as different as they are endearing
Young Rye is the eldest daughter of a modest family. She suffers from motion sickness, but takes the bus every day to support her mother and try to get into university. Underneath her well-behaved exterior, she hides a strong temperament: beware of those who try to get on without paying!
Jong Hee, on the other hand, is bold, full of life and afraid of nothing. With her bright lipstick and assertive character, she epitomized the "girl crush" of the time. Her dream: to emancipate herself from a difficult family past by working for the Cheong Ah transport company.
Together, these 2 women become inseparable, until the same love (Han Jae-pil, played by Heo Nam-jun) upsets their relationship and takes them through the complexities of youthful feelings.
A renowned team behind the camera
This drama is signed by Yang Hee-seungthe screenwriter of Ilta Scandal and Oh My Ghost, known for his funny, yet deeply human stories. DirectingKim Sang-ho (Thirty Nine) brings her sensibility to portray emotions with accuracy.
Halfway between emotion, nostalgia and romance, A Hundred Memories promises to be a vibrant portrait of youth, with a carefully crafted aesthetic and a very promising duo of actresses. This return to the 80s will appeal as much to nostalgic fans as to a new generation in search of sincere, luminous stories.
We are of course awaiting news of an international distributor, and will keep you posted.
