Climax follows Bang Tae-seop, an ambitious prosecutor ready to immerse himself in a cartel of influence, money and ruthless rivalry. Propelled to the rank of star prosecutor after marrying the country's leading actress, he finds himself at the center of a game of survival in which everyone advances masked.
Ju Ji-hoon plays Bang Tae-seop, a rising star who owes her meteoric rise to fame as much to her talent as to her strategic marriage. Ha Ji-won plays Chu Sang-ah, once Korea's number-one actress, now relegated to the status of "fallen star" since her union with Bang Tae-seop.
Alongside them, Nana plays Hwang Jeong-won, a secret informant who holds the key to an explosive truth, capable of revealing the inner workings of the cartel. Cha Joo-young plays Lee Yang-mi, second wife of the chairman of the WR Group conglomerate. As for Oh Jung-se, he plays Kwon Jong-wook, the president's eldest son, engaged in a fierce power struggle against Lee Yang-mi.
