Yeon Ji-young (YoonA) is a passionate, lively and determined chef specializing in French cuisine. Her career took an unexpected turn after winning a gastronomic competition in France: the young woman finds herself projected back to the Joseon period ! There, her culinary talent attracts the attention of King Lee Heon (Lee Chae-min), a ruler feared for his cruelty and undisputed authority. Endowed with an incredibly sharp palate, capable of detecting the slightest nuance of flavor, the king accidentally tastes her dishes... and immediately falls under her spell. Seduced, he orders her to the palace to become his official cook.
Just as she was about to realize her dream in Paris in a Michelin-starred restaurant, Ji-young must now imagine a royal cuisine blending French traditions and influences to satisfy this demanding monarch.
But within the palace walls, intrigues are rumbling: Kang Mok-ju (Kang Han-na), the king's concubine, hides her boundless ambition behind her smile, while Prince Jesan (Choi Gwi-hwa) emerges as Lee Heon's main political rival.
