In the Seoul of the 80s, on the famous avenue of Chungmuro (the beating heart of Korean cinema) Jung Hee-Ran (performed by Lee Ha-Nee) reigns as the undisputed star. Renowned for her outspokenness and explosive temperament, she doesn't mince her words when she senses injustice. But just as she landed the lead role in the sultry film Ms Aemaeverything changes.
The producer Gu Joong-Ho (played by Jin Sun-Kyu), a man willing to do anything to keep his place in a ruthless industry, finally loses patience with the star's uncontrollable attitude. He makes a radical decision: oust Hee-Ran from the project. To replace her, he organizes a huge casting session and finds Shin Joo-Ae (played by Bang Hyo-Rin), a dreamy nightclub dancer determined to become an actress.
Left out of the film that was supposed to strengthen her legend, Hee-Ran sees red. While Kwak In-Woo (performed by Cho Hyun-Chul), an idealistic but unsure young director, is about to make his debut behind the camera, and the atmosphere on the set is already electric.
