Good news for fans of Jung Sung-il ! The actor, who first came to public attention in The Glory, could soon be making his comeback on the big screen. Netflix after a 3-year absence. According to several Korean media, he has received an offer to join the main cast of the drama "Beauty in the Beast"alongside Lomon (All of Us Are Dead), Kim Min-ju (Undercover High School) and Moon Sang-min (Under the Queen's Umbrella). His agency, XYZ Studioconfirmed that it is currently considering the offer positively.

Beauty in the Beast reinvents the famous tale in modern form. The story will follow a young werewolf studentHa Min-su (rumored to be played by Kim Min-ju), who tries to have a love affair with an older girl, Kwon Hae-jun, while hiding his true nature. Meanwhile, his werewolf companion Lee Do-ha (Lomon) is a hunter who tracks down drug traffickers. Moon Sang-min has been cast in the role of Kwon Hae-jun.
Between romance, identity and the fear of revelation, the drama promises an atmosphere both fantastic and emotional.
A drama from the 2026 Netflix lineup
The project brings together a prestigious team: Jin Hyeok, director of The Legend of the Blue Sea and Sisyphus: The Myth, and Jin Han-sae, screenwriter of Extracurricular and Glitch. No shooting or release date has yet been announced, but Beauty in the Beast will be part of the next Netflix line-up in 2026for release probably in 2027.
In parallel, Jung Sung-il has several upcoming projects: the SBS drama Full Count, Made in Korea alongside Hyun Bin and Jung Woo-sung, and Guardians, a thriller due in 2026.
