tvN's new legal drama, Pro Bonohas just unveiled a behind-the-scenes look at its first script reading, bringing together a promising cast and a top-notch production team.

Directed by Kim Sung-yoonwhose work includes Itaewon Class and Love in the Moonlight, and written by Moon Yoo-seokscriptwriter of the hard-hitting The Devil Judge, this drama promises to be both satirical and moving. The story follows the transformation of a materialistic judge obsessed with success, who suddenly finds himself propelled into the pro bono department of a large law firm, with no income and no prestige.
A dynamic cast with a funny, human tone
During this reading, the main actors Jung Kyung-ho, So Ju-yeon, Yoon Na-moo, Seo Hye-won and Kang Hyung-suk brought their characters to life with energy and complicity.
Jung Kyung-ho embodies Kang Davida former judge turned pro bono lawyer in spite of himself. With his natural humor and expressive acting, he was able to illustrate the confusion and inner dilemmas of his character, a man once influential in the legal world who is now forced to redefine his vision of justice.

On his side, So Ju-yeon seduced the team with her vivacity. In the role of Park Ki-bbeumA passionate legal scholar with boundless curiosity, she brought luminous energy and infectious enthusiasm to the session.

Yoon Na-moo (Jang Young-sil), Seo Hye-won (Yoo Nan-hee) and Kang Hyung-suk (Hwang Joon-woo) complete the main cast. The three of them demonstrate a wonderful chemistry, their complicity foreshadowing a group dynamic that's both comic and touching.



A mix of humor and realism expected
The production team praised the immediate cohesion between the actors: "Even during the first reading, they quickly found their rhythm and showed a beautiful synergy," said the production.
"Pro Bono will offer both entertainment and catharsis through a humorous yet realistic courtroom story. We look forward to a great audience."
The drama Pro Bono is expected for december 2025 on tvN. A series that promises to explore justice from an unprecedented angle, with laughter, emotion and questioning.
