ENA's next big project is beginning to take shape. On November 24, the channel made official the distribution of Climax, a survival thriller that brings together Ju Ji-hoon, Ha Ji-won, Nana, Oh Jung-se and Cha Joo-young. At the helm is director Lee Ji-won, Baeksang award-winner for Miss Baekwhich promises precise staging and intense storytelling.
A survival thriller at the heart of a power cartel
Climax follows Bang Tae-seop, an ambitious prosecutor ready to immerse himself in a cartel of influence, money and ruthless rivalry. Propelled to the rank of star prosecutor after marrying the country's leading actress, he finds himself at the center of a game of survival in which everyone advances masked.
Ju Ji-hoon plays Bang Tae-seop, a rising star who owes her dazzling reputation as much to her talent as to her strategic marriage. Ha Ji-won plays Chu Sang-ah, once Korea's number-one actress, now relegated to the status of "fallen star" since her union with Bang Tae-seop.
At their side, Nana plays Hwang Jeong-won, a secret informant who holds the key to an explosive truth, capable of revealing the inner workings of the cartel. Cha Joo-young plays Lee Yang-mi, second wife of the chairman of the WR Group conglomerate. As for Oh Jung-se plays Kwon Jong-wook, the president's eldest son, engaged in a bitter power struggle with Lee Yang-mi.
An ambitious production and a top-notch cast
The team behind the series makes no secret of its enthusiasm: "Director Lee Ji-won, who has proven the finesse of her direction, joins a cast that inspires confidence just by reading their names. The characters' intertwined desires and the decisions they make make for a powerful story. We hope you'll pay close attention," said the production.
With a strong cast, dark plot and ambition on display, Climax looks set to be one of ENA's most eagerly awaited series of 2026. The scheduled broadcast slot is Monday and Tuesday, while the international platform that will carry the series has yet to be confirmed.
