The cast of the romantic drama “Nine to Six”continues to take shape. Joo Hyun-young is currently in talks to join Park Min-young and Yook Sung-jae in this new series due to be broadcast on SBS.
According to information revealed on March 19, the actress has been offered a role. Her agency has confirmed that she is «positively considering» this opportunity, hinting at a possible participation in the project.
Adapted from the Chinese drama “The Rational Life”, “Nine to Six” tells the story of a woman who, having long prioritized her career over her love life, sees her daily life change when she meets a caring man. This encounter marks the beginning of a profound change, both personally and professionally.

A role rooted in reality
Joo Hyun-young has reportedly been offered the role of Shin Ji-won, a woman married for 10 years, living as a couple without children (DINK). She's best friends with Kang Yi-ji, played by Park Min-young, and stands out for her frank, direct character.
A former bank employee, she left her job after getting married, choosing a different life alongside her husband. A passionate cook, she regularly shares her creations on social networks and travels the world in search of new culinary experiences.
But behind this well-organized life, questions begin to emerge. While she had initially chosen not to have children, she gradually finds herself confronted with doubts and inner conflicts about this choice.
A romance accompanied by personal reflections
With this character, “Nine to Six” is more than just a love story. The drama also explores the life choices, compromises and personal evolutions that accompany long-term relationships.
If her participation is confirmed, Joo Hyun-young will enrich a plot already centered on realistic life paths, between career, love and questioning.
“Nine to Six” is due for release in 2026.
