The actress Jin Ki-joo could soon be making a comeback in a romantic comedy. On January 16, South Korean media outlet SPOTV News reported that Jin Ki-joo was in talks to play the lead role in the upcoming drama « Sleeping Doctor »(literal title).
Shortly after the information was published, its agency Basecamp Company cautiously confirmed the news, saying: « Sleeping Doctor is a project for which it has received a proposal and is currently examining.» No final decision has yet been made, but the announcement is already generating a great deal of interest.
A rom-com between inner wounds and healing
Sleeping Doctor is presented as a romantic comedy combining medicine and emotions. The story follows Hong Gyeong, a promising psychiatrist able to help his patients, but unable to heal his own inner wounds. Opposite him is Nam Ji-oh, a doctor nicknamed the «Hua Tuo of the hospital world», renowned for its almost miraculous ability to revive hospitals on the verge of bankruptcy.
If Jin Ki-joo accepts the role, she would carry one of the central characters of this duo, in a story that promises to explore emotional healing, personal reconstruction and a romance na means.
The project is currently in the casting phase and is still discussing its broadcaster and broadcast schedule. No male partners or shooting dates have yet been announced.
Pending further confirmation, Sleeping Doctor is already establishing itself as a drama to watch, especially for fans of romantic comedies with emotional depth.
