Tae Joong's peaceful daily life is shattered in a matter of seconds. In the brand-new teaser for the Korean drama The Manipulated, unveiled by Disney+, actor Ji Chang-wook plays an ordinary man suddenly drawn into a descent into hell, the victim of a cruel and unjust plot. Opposite him, Doh Kyung-soo plays an adversary as mysterious as he is implacable.

A tense psychological thriller of injustice and revenge

Tae Joong leads a simple life, between his job as a delivery boy and his silent dreams. One day, he picks up a lost telephone in the street and returns it to its owner. This banal gesture becomes the starting point of a nightmare. That day," he says in a broken voice, "my life fell apart. Accused of a crime he didn't commit, Tae Joong finds himself in prison, unable to understand what is happening to him.

The teaser skilfully plays on contrasts: Tae Joong's visible suffering, his muffled cries in the corridors of a cell, set against the chilling calm of Yo Han, played by Doh Kyung-soo. The fast-moving shots and nervous editing reveal a mental stalker, a cat-and-mouse game in which the manipulator always seems to be one step ahead. Yo Han's wry smile and enigmatic words, "Calling me was the right thing to do", only add to the tension.

Between explosions, chases and the promise of revenge, The Manipulated promises to be an intense thriller, driven by a pair of actors whose face-off promises to be memorable. Ji Chang-wook, his eyes hardened by rage, utters a final threat: "Wait a minute, I'll find you."
