The new drama As You Stood Byadaptation of the acclaimed novel Naomi and Kanako by Hideo Okuda, promises to be an intense psychological drama driven by Jeon So-nee and Lee Yoo-mi. Directed by Lee Jung-rimThe drama explores the moral and emotional limits of two women trapped by violence and fear.

Two women on the brink

Jeon So-nee embodies Eun-sua luxury department store employee, haunted by childhood traumas. When she discovers that her friend Hui-su (Lee Yoo-mi) suffers the same violence she once experienced, she makes an irreversible decision: to save her friend, even if it means committing the irreparable.

On his side, Lee Yoo-mi interpreter Hui-sua former children's book author whose life has been turned into a nightmare by a violent husband. Together, the two women devise a radical plan: to kill the man who is destroying their lives.

A friendship transformed into an act of survival

Asked about their roles, Jeon So-nee confides that he wanted to embody "the superhuman strength that emerges when you try to save someone". Lee Yoo-miI tried to portray Hui-su's emotions with honesty. I felt it was important to observe how she felt, without any prejudice.

The production team added: "Eun-su and Hui-su stand side by side trying to escape their personal hell. Expect a story about their desperate choices."

As You Stood By will be broadcast from November 7 on Netflix, and promises to be a shattering psychological thriller about solidarity, guilt and survival.
