MBC has lifted the veil on the first images of its new Friday-Saturday drama, « Perfect Crown" , featuring IU in a role as ambitious as it is fearsome. The actress plays a cold-blooded businesswoman ready to conquer not only the business world, but also... royalty.

Scheduled for broadcast in April on MBC and Disney+ in Korea, the series is set in an alternative South Korea governed by a constitutional monarchy in the XXIᵉ century, and blends romance, class struggle and social strategy.
A powerful heiress... held back by her status
IU plays Seong Hui-ju, CEO of Castle Beauty. Born out of wedlock into the powerful Castle group, she's got it all: stunning beauty, formidable intelligence, a competitive spirit that's out of the ordinary and a recognized talent for business, so much so that she's been awarded the prize for best entrepreneur.
But in a society where the nobility retains an overwhelming influence, one obstacle remains: her status as a commoner. This was enough to limit her ascent, despite her dazzling success in the business world.

A contractual marriage to conquer royalty
To overcome this social barrier, Seong Hui-ju sets herself a goal that is as audacious as it is secret: to enter into a contractual marriage with Prince Lee An, played by Byun Woo-seok. A royal heir deprived of any real freedom, he represents the exact opposite of Hui-ju: a man of blue blood, but with no real power.

The images unveiled show Seong Hui-ju in all her professional splendor: confidently leading meetings, imposing her presence in front of executives, then capturing all eyes at public events under the flashbulbs of journalists. Every outfit, every appearance reinforces her aura of a woman who always wins.
A central question remains: will this born strategist be able to extend her empire as far as the royal palace, or will she come up against impossible limits?

With this role, IU is about to reveal a whole new side to her game, playing a heroine ready to break the rules and shape her own destiny in a world frozen in privilege.
Broadcast from April 3 on MBC and Disney+ in Korea, unfortunately not in France.
