The drama “Perfect Crown” continues to build anticipation with a new teaser revealing a romance as daring as it is unexpected. IU plays a heroine willing to defy social rules to achieve her goal.
In this alternative universe where modern Korea is a constitutional monarchy, Seong Hui-ju is a powerful heiress, but limited by her status as a commoner. Opposing her is Grand Prince Ian (Byeon Woo-seok), a prince who, despite his royal blood, seems devoid of any real power.
A proposal that changes the rules
From the very first seconds of the teaser, the tone is set. Seong Hui-ju is judged and criticized for her status. A voice says scornfully, «She lacks many things... like class.»
But far from giving in, she hatches a plan as simple as it is ambitious: marry the Great Prince Ian.
Her entourage immediately tries to dissuade her. Secretary Do Hye-jung (Lee Yeon) and Prime Minister Min Jung-woo (Noh Sang-hyun) all question the feasibility of her project.
When asked, «How do you plan to marry the Great Prince Ian?» she confidently replies, «Why not?»
A romance born of daring
Determined to get her project accepted, Seong Hui-ju seeks government approval. She doesn't hesitate to address Min Jung-woo directly: «Please approve my marriage.»
His motivation is clear: «I'm trying to raise my social status.» But beyond this ambition, a more emotional dynamic begins to emerge. Little by little, Grand Prince Ian seems to be seduced by Seong Hui-ju's confidence and charisma.
The teaser concludes with a striking scene in which she asks him directly: «Will you marry me?» A proposal that heralds a relationship as atypical as it is captivating, between social strategy and budding feelings.
“Perfect Crown” will be broadcast from April 10 at 9:40pm (Korean time) on MBC.
