JTBC's upcoming drama «Shining» continues to unfold with new images featuring Shin Jae-ha and Kim Min-ju. Through their looks and gestures, these first shots already reveal a relationship marked by gentleness, restraint and persistent warmth.
Shining tells the story of young adults who once shared a world of their own, before gradually becoming each other's anchor and light. A delicate narrative centered on time, trust and the bonds that never completely fade away.
A stable man facing a woman in search of direction
Shin Jae-ha plays the role of Bae Seong-chan, a hotelier with a poised, confident appearance. When he was just starting out in the business, he met Mo Eun-ah, played by Kim Min-ju. Since then, their paths have continued to cross. It was he who encouraged her to work in the hotel business, at a time when she was going through a period of wandering, still seeking her place and her future.

The new images reveal a Bae Seong-chan with a relaxed yet assertive presence, exuding the discreet charm of a man come of age. His gaze, both lively and deep, seems charged with a silent affection for Mo Eun-ah, hinting at a nuanced relationship rich in unspoken words.

Opposite him, Mo Eun-ah appears calm, almost at peace in his presence. This subtle complicity heralds a different dynamic from the one the character has with Yeon Tae-seo, played by Park Jin-young, and opens the way to a different kind of emotional connection.

A relationship like unquenchable embers
To describe the bond between their characters, Shin Jae-ha used a particularly evocative metaphor: «The relationship between Mo Eun-ah and Bae Seong-chan is like embers. From the outside, it may look like everything is extinguished, but embers don't go out easily. And as long as there's fire, there's heat. Their relationship seems fragile, as if it might break, but it holds. It doesn't blaze, yet that warmth has never gone out.»
These words perfectly sum up the atmosphere of Shining a story that doesn't rely on spectacularly grand climaxes, but on persistent, silent, deeply human feelings.
The drama Shining will be broadcast from March 6, every Friday at 8:50pm (KST) on JTBC.
