The family drama « Recipe For Love » continues to reveal itself with new images focusing on the Yang family, a clan deeply marked by the wounds of the past. Through them, the series explores generational conflicts, buried resentments and the (fragile) possibility of reconciliation after 30 years of tension.

At the center of this dynamic is Yang Hyun-bin, played by Park Ki-woong. The eldest grandson in the family, he grew up under the shadow of an authoritarian grandfather and an emotionally distant father. Unable to cope with this stifling climate, he left Korea to study abroad. His return, however, as executive director of a fashion division, rekindles complex feelings: anger, incomprehension, but also an attachment he has never completely severed.

Ambition, guilt and hopes of reconciliation

Around him revolves an equally tormented family nucleus. Kim Hyung-mook plays Yang Dong-ik, the eldest son, married to Cha Se-ri, played by So Yi-hyun. Their couple oscillates between sincere affection and social ambition, creating a tense, sometimes contradictory relationship with their child. A dynamic in which love and frustration are constantly intertwined.

The patriarch Yang Sun-chul, played by Joo Jin-mo, is a man shaped by authority and stubbornness. Behind this rigid façade, however, lies a deep-seated guilt towards his family, which he has never been able to express. His attitude tsundere towards his daughter-in-law Cha Se-ri intrigues as much as it foreshadows a possible evolution.

The siblings are rounded out by Yang Dong-sook (Jo Mi-ryung), determined to turn her son Min Ji-hoo (Jo Yi-hyun) into a doctor of traditional Korean medicine, and Yang Eun-bin (Yoon Seo-ah), the bubbly youngest, whose spontaneity brings a welcome breath of fresh air to this tense family.

According to the production team, «the story of the Yang family, carried by six characters with very distinct personalities, will give the drama all its richness and offer a dense emotional experience, carried by their strong on-screen chemistry». Between inherited conflicts and attempts at rapprochement, Recipe For Love promises a nuanced family portrait, where every relationship has to be rebuilt.

Recipe For Love will be broadcast from January 31 at 8pm (KST), No known OTT to date.
