The new teaser for " I DOL I "adds an extra layer of emotional tension to this year's eagerly-awaited romantic courtroom drama. At the heart of the story is Maeng Se-na (Sooyoung), a brilliant lawyer and absolute fan of an idol... forced to defend the same man after being accused of murder.

From stage to handcuffs: the brutal fall of an idol

The teaser opens with Do Ra-ik (Kim Jae-yeong), star of the Gold Boys, bursting into the spotlight. His image is perfect, almost unreal, until this sentence cracks the illusion: "What people like isn't me... it's Do Ra-ik from the Gold Boys."

The dream soon turns into a nightmare. A band member is found lifeless, and the most chilling scene shows Ra-ik in tears, holding his bloodied comrade in his arms. Within seconds, the idol adored by millions becomes a suspect. Shouts of admiration turn to looks of reproach, as concert halls give way to a cold, silent interrogation room.

Lawyer versus fangirl: a trapped heart

Faced with him, Maeng Se-na falters. The passionate fan wants to believe in him, repeating to herself, "Ra-ik would never do that." But the lawyer can't ignore her doubts. This inner fracture becomes the driving force of the teaser, until that suspended moment when Ra-ik says to her: "Whose side are you on... mine?"

His distress is laid bare, as if he's clinging to the last thing left intact in his life: Se-na's trust. She, for her part, murmurs in a breath, "I just want to be able to love him freely, like I used to." A simple sentence, but heavy with all that it implies: fear, loyalty, truth.

On one side, an idol accustomed to hiding his true face behind a public smile. On the other, a woman condemned to hide her feelings behind her title of lawyer. "I DOL I" promises a battle as intimate as it is judicial: proving Ra-ik's innocence... without losing her heart.

The drama will air from December 22 at 10pm on ENA, but also on Netflix worldwide.
