The drama " I DOL I " continues to unveil the intense and unexpected relationship between Maeng Se-na and Do Ra-ik. New images highlight the emotional tipping point between the star lawyer played by Sooyoung and the fallen idol played by Kim Jae-yeong, now plunged into a judicial nightmare. Part romance, part thriller, part justice, the series promises to be one of the most confusing projects of the end of the year.

A fan confronts her hero's collapse
Overnight, Do Ra-ik goes from being an admired star to a suspect in a murder case. Shunned by the public and abandoned by those around him, he finds himself isolated... until Maeng Se-na appears.

A brilliant lawyer renowned for her spectacular win rate, Se-na agrees to defend the man she has secretly admired for over ten years. But behind his professional demeanor lies a shadowy fan: in the past, when no one yet saw him as a future idol, she would attend his performances alone, cheering him on in empty halls.
The images unveiled show this shocking inversion: once, he was her light; today, she becomes his protection.

A reverse romance, driven by the eyes
As the investigation progresses, the distance between the two characters narrows. The impassive lawyer becomes a reassuring, almost intimate presence. The shots now show them in discreet, emotionally-charged proximity, Se-na watching over Ra-ik as he finally sleeps, letting down his defenses.

Sooyoung explains this singular dynamic: "Se-na appears as a heroine every time Ra-ik is in danger. It was fascinating to see the usual male-female roles reversed compared to classic dramas."

She adds, "Se-na can't reveal that she's a fan, but I wanted to convey her deep affection, empathy and understanding through her eyes."
For her part, Kim Jae-yeong insists on the unique nature of their bond: "A sincerity that goes beyond mere fandom is at the heart of their relationship. They start out as a star and a fan, but through this affair, they learn to truly discover each other and grow together."

He concludes, "More than anything, it's this desire to protect each other, and this attraction that's hard to explain, that makes this couple different."
Between fragile trust, suppressed feelings and the quest for justice, I DOL I promises a story where love is neither idealized nor simple, but woven out of urgency, fear... and hope.
Broadcast from December 22, 2025 on ENA and internationally on Netflix.
