The young actor Hong Min-ki has just landed a starring role in ENA's next drama, Jonbeo Doctoran adaptation of the successful webtoon of the same name.
A drama based on a popular webtoon
Published since 2022 on Kakao Webtoon, Jonbeo Doctor tells the story of Do Ji-ui (performed by Lee Jae-wook), a plastic surgeon forced to work as a public health physician on the remote island of Pyundongdo, nicknamed "Hell Island". Over the course of a year, he encounters extreme medical situations and colorful inhabitants, in a relentless struggle to "stand his ground" in the face of hardship.
The production was entrusted to the renowned Lee Myung-wooknown for hits such as The Fiery Priest, Punch and Whisper.
A key role for Hong Min-ki
In this series, Hong Mi-ki will play the role of Hyun Ji-yeon, public health doctor with a cold, distant character, nicknamed the "icy tsundere". He soon finds himself in a rivalry with the hero played by Lee Jae-wook, adding dramatic tension that promises to captivate viewers.
Actress Lee Soo-kyung also joins the cast as Eom Jung-seon, a Pyeondong resident who works both in traditional medicine and as a nurse, and who comes into conflict with Shin Ye-eun.
