SBS's new fantasy-legal drama is already beginning to intrigue. Even before it airs, « Phantom Lawyer »reveals the first key element of its universe: the hero's very first client... will be a ghost played by Heo Sung-tae.

A lawyer who defends the dead
The series will follow Shin Yi-rang (Yoo Yeon-seok), a lawyer with the ability to see spirits, who collaborates with elite lawyer Han Na-hyun (Esom) to resolve the grudges left by clients unlike any others: dead people who demand justice.
The story begins when he opens his practice in an ancient shamanic ritual site. The apparitions begin, and the first figure to appear is none other than Heo Sung-tae.

In the previously revealed images, Shin Yi-rang was praying in a church, disturbed by his visions. Now we learn that he was not alone: a spirit with a pale face and serious gaze stood beside him. But far from being frightening, his almost playful expression provoked a smile rather than fear.
A mysterious customer... and perhaps an invasive one
The character's identity remains a secret. Neither his past, nor the reason for his death, nor the complaint that brought him to the lawyer's are yet known.
What we do know, however, is that the drama's “special clients” will do more than just demand justice. They may even borrow Shin Yi-rang's body to uncover the truth. An unlikely collaboration that promises a blend of comedy and emotion.

The production team said: «We unveiled these images of the special client as a surprise gift for the Lunar New Year. We sincerely thank Heo Sung-tae for accepting this appearance and captivating the set with his powerful energy.» They added: «His appearance will serve as a spark to reveal the charm of Phantom Lawyer. From him, a variety of special clients will emerge. Expect a new kind of legal drama where humor and emotional resolution coexist.»
The drama will air on March 13 at 9:50pm (KST) on SBS (pending OTT).
