Han Ji-min could soon be back Lee Byung-hun in an ambitious spy drama. On January 13, it was reported that the actress was currently considering a proposal to join « Koreans«(working title), a long-awaited project inspired by the cult American series The Americans.

According to reports, Han Ji-min has been offered the lead female role, that of the wife of a spy couple at the heart of the plot. This role had originally been proposed to Jun Ji-hyun, who eventually declined due to scheduling conflicts. Lee Byung-hun is in talks to play her husband on screen.
An ambitious remake and a long-awaited reunion
The BH Entertainment agency confirmed the information, saying: «It is true that Han Ji-min received a proposal to appear in Koreans. She is considering it favorably, but a final decision will be made after adjusting her schedule, due to commitments already scheduled.»
If participation is confirmed, Koreans would mark the 3rd collaboration between Han Ji-min and Lee Byung-hun. The 2 actors had previously reunited in the drama All In in 2003, then in the Our Blues in 2022, but without sharing any scenes together due to their distinct narrative lines.
The project will be directed by Ahn Gil-ho, known for his work on The Glory. Unlike the original American series, set during the Cold War of the 1980s, this Korean adaptation will transpose the story to the tense context of South Korea's military dictatorship, promising a more local and politically charged retelling.
Meanwhile, Han Ji-min is currently preparing for the broadcast of his next JTBC drama, Efficient Dating for Singles, soon to be released.
