The thriller « Mad Concrete Dreams »has unveiled a new teaser as ironic as it is disturbing. Ha Jung-woo plays Ki Soo-jong, a man obsessed with his dream of becoming a landlord, ready to do anything to protect his building and his family.
The video opens with an almost didactic tone. Facing the camera, Ki Soo-jong details the “steps” involved in becoming a homeowner in Korea.
First step: take out the highest possible loan, even if it means committing absolutely everything you own. As he speaks, the image contrasts sharply with his words: we see him reading a notice of default, proof that the real estate dream can quickly turn into a nightmare.
Mounting debts
Second step: «Fill in the gaps with private loans.»
The scene shows Ki Soo-jong making numerous calls to convince acquaintances to invest in him. Anxiety mounts, and the financial balance becomes increasingly fragile.
Step three: «Hold out to the end».»
He clings to the hope of a future real estate redevelopment that could save his situation. His gaze conveys a silent determination in the face of mounting pressure.
When dreams turn to horror
But the atmosphere suddenly changes. While on the phone, Ki Soo-jong hears a strange voice. Intrigued, he follows the sound and slowly opens a door. The scene ends with a chilling image: the legs of a woman lying motionless on the floor.
Between real estate ambitions and a criminal spiral, Mad Concrete Dreams promises a psychological thriller where every decision has unpredictable consequences.
The series will air on March 14 at 9:10pm (KST), no OTT for the moment.
