Good Boy bids farewell: an emotional final episode and a cast farewell

After weeks of twists and turns, humor and action, Good Boy bowed out on July 20 on JTBC (and Prime Video). The drama, which won over a wide audience thanks to its gang of former athletes turned policemen, gave itself a much-awaited finale, with 8.1 % audience share, beating its own record. Before the final episode aired, the main actors shared their impressions and thanked the viewers who followed them to the end.

From medals to badges: a drama like no other

Good Boy told the story of national athletes who traded their athletic careers for police missions, as part of a special program. Together, they confront a world of corruption, lies and abuse of power. An original pitch, supported by an engaging cast.

The cast's farewell, between gratitude and emotion

Park Bo-gumthe charismatic hero of the series, was keen to salute viewers:

"I've met some luminous people thanks to this project. I'm grateful to everyone who stands up for justice in our society." The very involved actor didn't fail to pay tribute to the "Good-vengers", an affectionate nickname given to the drama's cast of characters.

Kim So-hyunHan Na's role was a turning point in his career:

"I've learned a lot by putting my heart and soul into protecting those I love on screen. Thank you to the audience who laughed and cried with us."

Oh Jung-sewho played the fearsome antagonist, said with intensity:

"The time has come for Min Joo-young to be punished. I hope the efforts of people who strive to be good will always be rewarded."

Lee Sang-yi confided:

"My time with Good Boy has been a precious gift to me. Thanks to all the wonderful people who worked hard on this drama, I was able to grow and progress. I'd like to sincerely thank everyone who loved Good Boy, including our Criminal Investigation Special Team, who became like family during this long shoot, and all the staff members. I was really, really happy during the shoot."

Thinking back to the shoot, Heo Sung-tae confided: "What comes to mind first is the team, who worked tirelessly to bring Good Boy to life." He also expressed his gratitude to the director: "She showed great kindness to the actors and put her heart and soul into the set so that we could play freely. I'm deeply grateful to her for that. I'd also like to thank everyone who supported and loved Good Boy."

Finally, Tae Won-seok confided:

"What I feel most of all is sadness that Good Boy is already coming to an end. That's how much this drama meant to me. Working with such wonderful people has been a huge honor, and I've been grateful for the opportunity to show a new side of myself as an actor. It was a truly happy time. I'd like to express my gratitude to 'Good-vengers' Park Bo-gum, Kim So-hyun, Heo Sung-tae and Lee Sang-yi; to Oh Jung-se, who played an unforgettable villain; to director Shim Na Yeon and the whole crew; and to screenwriter Lee Dae Il, creator of the Jae Hong character.
