SBS is about to strike hard with Queen Mantisa new drama that promises to be as disturbing as it is captivating. Remake of the French series The MantisThe new film delves into the world of serial killers and unspoken family secrets. The new posters reveal a quartet of complex characters, portrayed by first-rate actors: Go Hyun Jung, Jang Dong Yoon, Jo Sung Ha and Lee El.

A serial killer at the center of the game

Go Hyun-jung plays the role of Jung Yi-shin, nicknamed "The Mantis", a murderess who left her mark by murdering five men twenty years earlier. Imprisoned ever since, she returns to the center of the plot when a copycat repeats her crimes. To solve the case, the police have no choice but to turn to her. On her poster, her cold, mysterious gaze is accompanied by the phrase "Are you afraid of looking like me?" promises a fascinating character, between danger and enigma.

An explosive mother-son relationship

Jang Dong-yoon plays Cha Soo-yeol, Jung Yi-shin's son. Torn apart by the hatred he harbors for his mother, he is introduced with the chilling tagline: "This dirty, terrible blood flows through my body." An intimate conflict that should fuel dramatic tension throughout the story.

Law enforcement caught in the web

Alongside them, Jo Sung-ha plays Choi Jung-ho, head of the Violent Crimes Unit. Formerly involved in the Mantis business, he remains haunted by the past. His poster, emblazoned with the phrase " Five people are dead, so save five people," illustrates her quest for justice and her humanity. Finally, Lee El plays Kim Na Hee, a determined detective whose intense gaze reflects her determination to bring down the killer. Her tagline, "So I'm finally going to see her, the notorious Mantis", heralds a high-voltage encounter.

A thriller not to be missed

With its tortured characters, moral dilemmas and stiflingly dark atmosphere, Queen Mantis could well become one of the year's most memorable thrillers. The series will air from September 5 at 9:50pm (KST) on SBS and available on Viki.
