MBN's next drama, First Lady, has just unveiled an intense glimpse of a decisive moment in its plot.
A story of power, ambition and betrayal
First Lady tells the shocking story of a president-elect who, at just 67 days before his inauguration(Jiun-wul), abruptly asks his wife for a divorce. Eugene plays Cha Soo-yeon, a political strategist known as a "kingmaker", ready to become First Lady... until her husband Hyun Min-chul (Ji Hyun-woo), newly elected president, turns her life upside down with a single word.
Alongside the main duo, Lee Min-young plays Shin Hae-rin, the new president's closest ally.
A cold victory
The new images show the electrifying scene where Hyun Min-chul celebrates his victory. As the crowd cheers the new president, Cha Soo Yeon, overcome with emotion, tearfully hugs her husband.
But this moment of joy was tarnished by the President-elect's icy demeanor. His frozen, aloof expression contrasts violently with his wife's tears, revealing a dramatic turnaround right from the start of the series.
Tension from the very first episode
"This scene heralds the twists and turns of First Lady. From the very first episode, big waves and breathless tension will unfold, making a lasting impression on viewers," confided the production team.
The drama kicks off on September 24 at 10:20pm (KST) on MBN and will be available for streaming on Viki (under the name "Première dame" in France).
