TV CHOSUN's next weekend drama, « Doctor Shin« begins to unveil its main characters... and the tone promises to be as intense as it is emotional.
This medical thriller tells the story of a brilliant doctor ready to push back the boundaries of science, and a woman whose brain is suddenly damaged, gradually leading her to lose her very essence. At the center of the story: an atypical romance involving a star who falls into a coma after a tragic accident, surrounded by 2 men, the one who once loved her and the one who still does.
An actress with a broken destiny
Baek Seo-ra plays Momo, an actress at the height of her popularity. Promised a bright future and engaged to Shin Ju-shin (Jung E-chan), director of a neurosurgery hospital, her life is turned upside down before her wedding day.
The victim of an accident, his body remains intact... but his brain is severely damaged.
The first images unveiled show an elegant woman, almost aristocratic in her public appearance, contrasting with other shots where she tries to conceal her identity behind dark glasses and casual attire.
The actress confided: «It's particularly meaningful for me to take on my first lead role with Doctor Shin, which is also my very first acting project. Because this work means so much to me, I feel an even greater sense of responsibility. I have my concerns, but I see it as a learning opportunity.»
A CEO with an extraordinary career
Opposite her, An Woo-yeon plays Ha Yong-joong, a game developer turned CEO after creating a wildly successful title.
An accomplished young executive, he combines natural charisma, sophistication and sensitivity. The first images show him evolving in his busy daily life, between meetings, business calls and more informal moments, illustrating the rhythmic life of a successful entrepreneur.
The actor shared his thoughts on the project: «When the author said that we would be “the protagonists who will carry the story', she said that we would be 'the protagonists who will carry the story'. Doctor Shin”, I felt both excitement and doubts about my ability to take on a work by such a renowned writer.»
To prepare for his role, he explains that he worked as much on appearance as on his character's inner attitude: «On the inside, I strove to portray a polite, gentlemanly CEO with wealth and fame.»
The production team emphasizes his constant involvement, saying that he is fully committed to the analysis and development of his character.
Doctor Shin will be broadcast from March 14 at 10:30 pm (Korean time) on TV CHOSUN.
