Disney+ unveils an ambitious 2026 kdramas lineup of thrillers, historical frescoes and fantasies

Disney+ has lifted the veil on its Korean line-up for 2026, with a teaser unveiled on January 22. The platform clearly confirms its ambitions with a selection of original series mixing psychological thrillers, historical dramas, action and fantasy romances, brought to life by some of the biggest names in the industry.

Dark thrillers and tales of high tension

Among the most eagerly awaited titles is « Bloody Flower« a mystery thriller centered on Lee Woo-gyeom, a serial killer capable of curing all incurable diseases. Starring Ryeoun, Sung Dong-il and Geum Sae-rok, the series promises a disturbing reflection on justice and ethics. It opens the year on February 2026.

Another eagerly awaited project, « Gold Land »stars Park Bo-young as an airport security guard unwillingly drawn into a gold smuggling ring. As greed takes hold of her, the story becomes a dangerous game of betrayal and survival.

Disney+ also confirms the return of « Made in Korea »with a season 2, reuniting Hyun Bin and Jung Woo-sung in a Seoul of 1979 shaken by major political upheavals. A fresco of power and determination scheduled for the second half of the year.

Fantasy, action and strong female figures

The platform is also banking on the long-awaited adaptation of the web novel « The Remarried Empress« . Shin Min-ah plays a betrayed empress who chooses to take her destiny into her own hands, alongside Ju Ji-hoon, Lee Jong-suk and Lee Se-young. A fantasy romance at the heart of imperial intrigue, announced for the second half of 2026.

On the action side, « A Shop for Killers 2 »will mark the return of Lee Dong-wook and Kim Hye-joon. After the events of the first season, Ji-an once again finds herself hunted down by a new generation of killers, reigniting a bitter struggle for survival.

Finally, « Portraits of Delusion »promises an elegant and unsettling atmosphere. Set in 1935 Gyeongseong, the series reunites Suzy and Kim Seon-ho in a mysterious thriller revolving around a portrait, a reclusive woman and secrets buried for decades.

With this dense and varied program, Disney+ asserts its determination to establish itself as a major player in Korean drama over the long term, with strong stories, distinctive universes and prestigious casts throughout 2026.
