Tempestthe new Disney+ original series, starring Jun Ji-hyun and Kang Dong-wonwill arrive on the platform on September 10, 2025. With a 5-star cast and a prestigious production team, this drama promises to be one of the events of the fall season.
A high-voltage romance
In Tempest, Jun Ji-hyun plays Moon Ju, a renowned diplomat and former ambassador to the United Nations. A woman of power and principle, she finds herself confronted with an explosive case following an assassination attempt on a presidential candidate. To lead the investigation, she teams up with San Ho, a mysterious secret agent with a hazy past, played by Kang Dong-won. Their mission: to reveal a truth that could upset the balance on the Korean peninsula.
In this climate of danger and uncertainty, a complex relationship develops between the 2 protagonists, made up of tension, fragile trust... and mutual attraction. An unexpected but explosive duo.
Top-of-the-range production
The series features a top-notch technical team. The director is Kim Hee-won (Vincenzo, Queen of Tears) and Heo Myeong-haeng, acclaimed for his work on action films The Roundup: Punishment and Badland Hunters. The screenplay is by Jeong Seo-kyeong, the talented writer behind Decision to Leave and Little Women.
In addition to the main duo, Tempest reunites John Cho, Lee Mi-sook, Park Hae-joon, Kim Hae-sook, Yoo Jae-myung, Oh Jung-seLee Sang-hee, Joo Jong-hyuk and Won Ji-an. An impressive cast that promises intense, nuanced performances.
First poster unveiled
To accompany the announcement of the release date, Disney+ has unveiled a first poster. Created by British studio Empire Design (known for the posters for The Handmaiden, Stoker and Decision to Leave), the poster plays on the contrasts between black, white and red to highlight the intensity of the duo formed by Jun Ji-hyun and Kang Dong-won. The atmosphere is electric, mysterious, almost cinematic.

Format and distribution
The series will feature 9 episodes in total. The first three will be available from September 10followed by 2 episodes a week from September 17. An ideal format for maintaining suspense throughout the plot.
