Disney+ has just unveiled the first images from Tempest, its new K-drama event. Carried by two renowned stars, Jun Ji Hyun and Kang Dong Won, the series promises a breathtaking plot combining political tension, international conspiracy and survival.

A diplomat caught up in a conspiracy
In Tempest, Jun Ji-hyun plays Moon Ju, a former UN ambassador renowned for her sense of justice and unfailing calm. Her daily life is turned upside down the day an assassination attempt is made on a South Korean presidential candidate. Determined to uncover the truth, she finds herself at the heart of a crisis with explosive ramifications.

At his side, Kang Dong-won plays San Ho, a special agent whose nationality remains deliberately vague. Tasked with protecting Moon Ju, this enigmatic, observant man, always on his guard, intrigues as much as he fascinates. Their meeting, captured in the first official shots, suggests a relationship charged with emotion and dramatic tension, against a backdrop of a race against time.

A prestigious cast in a geopolitical thriller
The images unveiled by the production immediately plunge us into the solemn atmosphere of a mass prayer for the reunification of Korea, interrupted by gunfire. A powerful opening scene that sets the tone: Tempest will not compromise.
Around the main duo, a gallery of influential characters enriches the universe of the series:
- John Cho plays Anderson Miller, U.S. Deputy Secretary of State, as seen behind the tense scenes of the White House.

- Lee Mi-sook plays the role of Ok Seon, president of the powerful Ahseom Shipping company, which reigns over Korea's economic and political spheres.

- Park Hae-joon is Jun Ik, a charismatic presidential candidate.

- Kim Hae-sook Gyeong Shin, as calm as she is authoritarian.

- Oh Jung-se plays Jun Sang, a star prosecutor rewarded for his integrity... who may find himself caught up in the storm.
