The new visuals for I DOL I reveal the vertiginous fall of Do Ra-ik, idol at the height of his fame, suddenly caught up in a murder case. Kim Jae-yeong takes on the role of the adored singer whose life begins to crack as fame turns to suspicion.

From spotlight to interrogation room
On stage, the Gold Boys electrify the crowds and Do Ra-ik burns brighter than anyone else: a masterful smile, a loving gaze for his fans, the perfection of an idol who lets nothing show. But off-camera, another truth emerges, a harsher face, a loneliness lurking behind the glittering façade.

Then the unthinkable happens: a band member is found dead... and Do Ra-ik finds himself at the center of the cyclone. New images show him in tears, interrogated in a cold room where the icon has become a suspect. Fear, anger, a sense of injustice: it's all there on his face, and the question burns in our minds: how can an idol at the top find himself accused of the worst?
Defending yourself without losing your soul
Alongside Do Ra-ik, Maeng Se-na, played by Choi Soo-young, plays a brilliant lawyer and... her biggest fan. Between loyalty of the heart and professional duty, the line becomes fragile: proving innocence without betraying one's emotions.

For Kim Jae-yeong, the demands of the role are total. Do Ra-ik is the group's singer, so I worked hard on the vocals and instruments. I also thought about everything, from style to stage presence, so that the performances sounded just right." A realism that promises credible concert scenes as much as gripping interrogation sequences.
"I DOL I" asks a simple, cruel question: what's left of an idol when the crowd turns? And how far can we go to defend the truth when it threatens what we love?
Broadcast from December 22 on ENA and in France on Netflix.
