The drama " Climax »continues to unveil its intense universe with the release of a new trailer featuring Ju Ji-hoon, Ha Ji-won, Nana, Cha Joo-young and Oh Jung-se in a battle for power where alliances and betrayals seem inevitable.
The series follows Bang Tae-seob, a prosecutor desperate to climb the ladder of power by infiltrating an influential cartel.
From the very first images of the trailer, Bang Tae-seob reveals his ambition: «I wanted to be on top of the world and look down on them.» To achieve this goal, he says he needs a key: «I needed a key to open this kingdom: Chu Sang-ah.»
A couple at the heart of a dangerous game
Chu Sang-ah, played by Ha Ji-won, is a former leading actress and wife of Bang Tae-seob.
But their relationship seems far from stable. Referring to his wife, the prosecutor confides: «When I looked at her, I saw myself. So I wanted her to belong to me, and I thought I'd succeeded. But lately, I'm beginning to think I was wrong.»
For her part, Chu Sang-ah has no intention of relinquishing her status, and declares with determination: «My pride has already been trampled. If I can turn things around by being trampled again, I will. It's better to be broken than to wither.»
A growing battle for influence
The trailer also introduces Hwang Jung-wonperformed by Nana, a character presented as a real disruptive factor in the couple's marriage.
A seeming admirer of Chu Sang-ah, she confides, «Ever since I was little, I've admired the actress Chu Sang-ah.»
But in reality, she's acting as an informant for Bang Tae-seob, who asks, «My wife is hiding something. Find out for me.»
Meanwhile, Lee Yang-mi (Cha Joo-young), a wealthy and influential woman, also seems ready to enter the power struggle. She says with a cold smile: «I have to be the one pulling the strings. I can't stand the idea of being someone else's puppet.»
Finally, Kwon Jong-wook (Oh Jung-se), heir to a powerful conglomerate, joins this battle of influence. When he asks the prosecutor why he should trust him, Bang Tae-seob replies, «Is there a stronger bond than that of two people whose interests align?»
As Bang Tae-seob and Chu Sang-ah's marriage begins to crack, everyone's ambitions threaten to explode.
The drama «Climax» will be broadcast from March 16 at 10pm (KST) on ENA and will also be available on Viki.
