A new romance is brewing on ENA with " Romance Expert" which reunites Choo Young-woo and Kim So-hyun under the direction of Ahn Pan-seok, master of delicate stories (Something in the Rain, One Spring Night...). A promising tandem for a series that blends love, reconstruction and science.
Two destinies shattered by hardship
Choo Young-woo plays Park Min-jae, a former swimmer who had to give up his career after losing the use of his leg. A refugee in research, he's now a doctoral student in robotics, making slow but steady progress and struggling to express his feelings. Until the day Yoo-jin crosses his path.
Talking about this project, the actor confides: "I'm very happy to be taking part in a work by director Ahn Pan-seok, whom I respect enormously. I'm preparing seriously to approach this role in a more academic way." Before adding: "With an excellent script, terrific actors and a great team, I'm meeting Min-jae with a light heart. I hope many of you will look forward to the series."
A heroine who refuses to disappear into silence
Opposite him, Kim So-hyun plays Im Yoo-jin. A textile design student, she sees her path closed after denouncing an injustice and being labelled a "troublemaker". Excluded from her intended studies, she discovers robotics, and with it an unexpected horizon that brings her closer to Min-jae.
Yoo-jin doesn't take things one step at a time: she goes for it. In life as in love. The actress confides: "It's a great honor to be working with director Ahn Pan-seok, and I'm really looking forward to it. Yoo-jin's bold character in Romance Expert attracted me enormously. And promises: "I will do my best to offer my best version and my best performance through this project."
Between bruised bodies, shattered ambitions and glimpses of a possible tomorrow, Romance Expert promises to be a slow, sensitive and deeply human romance.
