Scheduled for October on SBS, the new drama "Would You Marry Me"promises a cocktail of humor, romance... and make-believe. In this unexpected role, Choi Woo-shik plays Kim Woo-joo, the heir to an illustrious dynasty of bakers, caught up in a plot full of twists and turns.

Kim Woo-joo is no ordinary man. The only son of a family that runs Myungsoondang, South Korea's first bakery founded 80 years ago, he is also a respected marketing professional trained abroad. Between family traditions and personal ambitions, he returned to Korea to take charge of the family legacy. But his path soon takes an unexpected turn.

An unlikely alliance for a dream home

It's at this point that Yoo Mary enters the scene, played by Jung So-mina CEO determined to save her design company. Their alliance is sealed by a most surprising pact: a 90-day sham marriage, motivated by the promise of a luxurious home for the newlyweds. What begins as a simple business arrangement could well turn their certainties... and their hearts, upside down.

The first images unveiled show Choi Woo Shik in the opposite role: cold eyes, impeccable suit, rigid posture; far from the gentle, awkward roles to which he has accustomed us. At the airport, his tense face contrasts with the symbolic moment of his return to Korea, while another scene shows him in the middle of a strategy meeting, confidently wielding the art of leadership. The actor's character is at once charismatic and calculating, but probably not as insensitive as he seems.

The production's challenge is clear: to reveal a new facet of Choi Woo-shik, in the role of an heir who is both distant and captivating. The team promises explosive chemistry with Jung So Min, as well as a script punctuated by pretense, professional tensions... and budding feelings.

"Would You Marry Me" is shaping up to be one of autumn's most eagerly awaited romantic dramas. Stay tuned for further details (including international broadcast details).
