tvN has just released new images of the eagerly awaited Head Over Heels, a drama combining romance, the supernatural and tragic destiny. Scheduled to premiere on June 23 at 8:50 pm, this drama is adapted from a successful webtoon and promises to be as moving as it is mysterious.
A surprising triangle of doomed love
The story focuses on Park Seong-a (played by Cho Yi-hyun), a high-school girl with an ordinary everyday life... or almost. By night, she becomes a shaman, a role she takes very seriously, especially when she discovers that her first love, Bae Gyeon-u (played by Choo Young-woo), is destined to die in just 37 days. Born with a curse, he is constantly pursued by misfortune.
Determined to save him, Park Seong-a literally becomes his "human talisman". The closer she stays to him, the more she can ward off bad luck. In the new images, we see her clinging to his sports pants or accompanying him everywhere, even if it means going beyond the bounds of reason. Bae Gyeon-u, perplexed, doesn't understand the intentions of this strange girl who keeps crossing the boundaries of his personal space.
Humor, tension and unexpected alliances
Alongside them, another character catches the eye: Pyo Ji-ho (played by Cha Kang-yoon), the slightly offbeat comrade who observes the scene with a mixture of astonishment and resignation. Although he doesn't seem to fully understand Park Seong A's actions, he joins her in this almost impossible mission: pushing back fate to save a loved one.
The glances exchanged between the 3 characters hint at tension.The story is full of surprises, secrets and twists and turns. Bae Gyeon-U's wary eyes, Pyo Ji-ho's enigmatic smile and Park Seong-a's nervous energy make up a trio that's as funny as it is touching.
