The young actress Chae Seo-anrevealed to the public thanks to When Life Gives You Tangerines, could be back in the limelight. IU in an eagerly-awaited new drama entitled "Wife of a 21st Century Prince" (working title).

According to several Korean media outlets, the actress is in advanced talks to join the cast of this new series from MBCscheduled for release in the first half of 2026. A representative of his agency Blitzway Entertainment confirmed on June 12 that Chae Seo-an is "positively considering the casting offer".
A modern take on royal romance
"Wife of a 21st Century Prince" is set in a fictional version of modern Korea, still ruled by a constitutional monarchy. The drama will feature Sung Hee-joo (IU), heiress to a powerful chaebol frustrated by her status as a commoner, and Yi Wan (Byeon Woo-seok), a royal prince unable to enjoy the privileges of royal blood. Together, they attempt to break down social barriers in a romance that's both sweet and hard-hitting.
The cast also includes Noh Sang-hyun and Gong Seung-yeonpromising a four-star cast.
An eagerly awaited IU reunion
If his participation is confirmed, Chae Seo-an would play the daughter of a noble family and become the sister-in-law of the character played by IU. It would then be their second collaborationafter When Life Gives You Tangerines, in which Chae Seo-an made his mark as the youthful version of Yeong-Ran (played as an adult by Jang Hye-jin).
Her subtle acting, natural charisma and gentle aura have earned Chae Seo-an the nickname "Madame Hak" among fans of the Netflix drama, who have been captivated by her performance.

A career on the rise
Since her debut in Police University in 2021, Chae Seo-an has been working on a number of projects: Hellbound, Hierarchy, Paper Moon, and most recently the video for the group Jannabi. At the same time, she has been working on a series of advertising campaigns and photo shoots for major brands.
His eventual return to such an eagerly-awaited drama alongside such popular actors as IU and Byeon Woo-seok marks a new turning point in his promising career.
