MBC's new romantic drama « In Your Radiant Season" , continues to unveil its emotional universe with a poignant first teaser and new images focusing on its heroine's family. Between amnesia, unequal reunions and complex family relationships, the series is already creating a delicate, melancholy atmosphere.
Love frozen in time after an accident
The first teaser focuses on Sunwoo Chan, played by Chae Jong-hyeop, This is the story of a man whose memory came to an abrupt halt 7 years ago. The fragmented, almost dislocated images reflect his mind, scarred by an accident whose contours he can no longer reconstruct. An explosion, flames, then a voice echoing through the chaos: «Chan, je t'aime». This confession, uttered by Song Ha-ran just before he lost consciousness, becomes a tipping point.
When the 2 characters meet again in the present, the contrast is striking. Chan immediately recognizes the woman who turned his life upside down, while Ha Ran, played by Lee Sung-kyung, She greets him politely, without the slightest recollection: «Nice to meet you, I'm Song Ha-ran, chief designer». He confides in voice-over: «7 years ago, in the middle of winter, she came into my life like a spring breeze... and today, she's standing in front of me again». Two people, the same event, but completely opposite memories.
The production sums up the drama's central issue: «This first teaser focuses on Sunwoo Chan's memories, which came to a halt after the accident 7 years ago, and his confusing reunion with Song Ha-ran. We hope viewers will observe the choices made by these two characters, who have experienced the same event but through different temporalities and memories.»
Song Ha-young, the sister who protects and soothes
Beyond the main couple, In Your Radiant Season also focuses on Song Ha-ran's family unit. Han Ji-hyun plays Song Ha-young, the youngest of the three sisters, junior designer at Nana Atelier. Behind her boundless energy and assertive temperament, Ha Young sees herself as the emotional pillar of the family, the one who maintains balance at all costs.
The new images show her alternately concentrating on her work and freely expressing her emotions, true to her spontaneous character. But her role extends far beyond the office: Ha Young doesn't hesitate to step in to protect her older sister from their demanding and stern grandmother Kim Nana, played by Lee Mi Sook. This dynamic reveals a more tender, protective side of the character.
The production emphasizes this duality: «Han Ji Hyeon has portrayed Song Ha-young with balance, between her lively energy and the more delicate emotions she conceals. Behind her strong exterior, she is still in the process of building her personality. Her journey as a ‘second child’ will speak to many viewers while making hearts beat faster.»
The drama will air from February 20 at 9:50pm (KST) on MBC and Disney+ (but not available in France).
