According to several Korean media, Cha Woo-min has joined the cast of the upcoming tvN drama Favorite Employeeadaptation of the webtoon "My Oppa Is an Idol signed Seong Eun.
Former idol turned boss, fan turned employee
Favorite Employee will tell the unexpected story of a young woman who joins her idol's company... without suspecting that she'll find love there. The former singer, now CEO of a successful startup, hides a kind heart beneath his cold exterior. For her part, the new recruit is a loyal fan, suddenly thrust into a much more intimate daily life with the man she admired from afar.
This scenario promises a refreshing mix of romance, humor and office atmosphere.
In the series, Cha Woo-min will play Lee Chan, a former idol turned CEO.. Lee Chan is a superstar who had a difficult childhood. He gradually falls in love with Nam Darim (a role normally played by Kim Hye-joon), which creates tension with his best friend Kang Ha-gi (played by Kang Hoon). Cha Woo-min plays this complex character with great depth.
An actor with a string of projects
Cha Woo-min made his debut in the webdrama "Florida Spot" in 2021 and has since starred in "Weak Hero Class 1", "Night Has Become", "Study Group", "Buried Hearts" and "Treasure Island". He played the most popular boy in high school in the Netflix film "History of Confessions", released on May 29. No doubt 2026 will be another busy year for this promising actor.
