Cha Seung-won and Kim Do-hoon in talks for new spy action drama

The actors Cha Seung-won and Kim Do-hoon could soon be teaming up in a new action-spy drama. On November 12, MyDaily reported that both actors had received offers to play the lead roles in the series entitled Retired Agent Management Team (working title).

An agent duo between two generations

Cha Seung-won's agency, KeyEast Entertainmentconfirmed: "Cha Seung-won has received an offer to star in Retired Agent Management Team and is currently considering it."

For its part, Kim Do-hoon's agency, PEAK J EntertainmentThis is one of the projects proposed to Kim Do-hoon.

This drama is described as a bromance and espionage thriller between a retired Gen X agent and a gifted Gen Z youngster. The two join forces to track down a mole who has been undercover in a criminal organization for over 25 years. For one, it's a chance to recapture his former glory; for the other, a chance to prove his worth as a true field agent.

Cha Seung-won, the legendary veteran

Cha Seung-won was offered the role of Kim Chul-sooa former special operations agent who now runs a carwash. Underneath his quiet family man exterior, he's actually a legendary former agent of the National Intelligence Service (NIS), a lion in sheep's clothing, ready to show his claws.

Kim Do-hoon, the ambitious young recruit

Kim Do-hoon will play Go Yo-hanmember of the NIS Retired Agent Management Team.
Talented but impulsive and self-assured, he's often perceived as an attention-seeking show-off.
Behind this perfectionism lies an anxious young man, eager to be recognized for his skills and courage.

The screenplay will be penned by Song Han-na and Kim Min-sung, the authors of the thriller A Bloody Lucky Day.
The series is scheduled for broadcast on tvN in summer 2026.
